Cover protects the blender mechanism and is easy to install and use. This is an excellent durable blender, frankly by far the best, most effective and durable one on the market, BUT it is very large (don't plan on putting it on a shelf under a kitchen cabinet - it will not fit), and it is very noisy. This cover provides some sound isolation, but not much. But it protects the blender and acts as a safety guard when using the blender. It is hinged and opens easily, but again, it takes a lot of space to swing up and open, and the blender is already large (think Tim the Tool man from the TV show) so allow plenty of room.It does cut the sound, but as another reviewer states, it could do more. For $200, I am happy with it since combined with the Waring Xtreme blender it would cost as much as a Vitamix and is significantly less noisy now. I live in a condo where the walls/floor are paper thin, so this is a necessity for me when I'm making smoothies at 6:30 in the morning.Very solid product. Reduces noise noticeably, and couldn’t have been easier to install.I cannot tell you what a difference this makes. My husband no longer has to turn the volume of the TV up to hear the TV over the noise of the blender. Happy husband equals happy wife. The enclosure really does capture the sound. Not bad. But still there is a lot of sound for the price paid. Someone needs to come up with a better sound protection.I returned the blender so I don't need this acessorypoor quality control at waring, just received it in mail. the top plastic part where you open it case, makes rubbing noises with other plastic part and cant open properly. i paid $170 for this and received this. made in america? whats the point? the standards are starting to get below made in china. not to mention the case is huge like a spaceship.A must-have for noisy equipment.
